This iBook titled Bring Geometric Shapes to Life: Cultivating Academic Language with Morfo discusses how teachers can use the app to bring geometric shapes to life! She gives details of a lesson plan in which students pick a shape and then turn themselves into the shape. The app allows voice overs, so students can talk as if they are the shape. She has students give information about the shape such as the number of faces it has, the number of sides, and the number of angels.
Here is an example of what the app looks like when in use and putting students faces onto shapes.
Putting this in my own classroom:
This is an app that could easily be used in my own future classroom to assist students interest in certain subjects. Although the author of this iBook does not address it, you can also bring many other objects to life. For example, if you were learning about animals you could have students all be a different animal and talk about traits this animal has. This is such a fun way to present information in the classroom!
